BANDIPORA, JANUARY 23: District Administration Bandipora today led by Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib, participated in the nation-wide live streaming of the launch of the PM-SVANidhi Credit Card by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, an initiative aimed at strengthening urban livelihoods and deepening financial inclusion for street vendors.

The event, organised under the PM-SVANidhi Scheme, was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, street vendors, representatives from various banking institutions, officials, and workers of the Municipal Council.
On the occasion, 14 loan cases amounting ₹0.0525 crore were disbursed to eligible street vendors under different loan tranches.

It was informed that, under the PM-SVANidhi scheme, a total of 414 loan disbursements amounting to ₹0.87 crore have been availed by street vendors in Bandipora district across multiple tranches, reflecting steady progress in the implementation of the scheme at the district level.

The programme in Bandipora was held in parallel with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s national PM-SVANidhi event at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where the PM-SVANidhi Credit Card was formally launched.

Speaking at the district-level programme, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora highlighted the transformative role of the PM-SVANidhi scheme in empowering street vendors and reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration, in coordination with banking institutions and municipal authorities, to ensure maximum coverage of eligible vendors and the effective implementation of the scheme.
