REASI, DECEMBER 20: Neeraj Kumar Prajapati, popularly known as the Bicycle Man of India, is on a 3- Day tour of Reasi district as part of his 1,100-kilometer journey across Jammu Province to promote the Horticulture Development Program (HADP). The initiative, which began on December 11, aims to empower farmers by boosting their income through modern horticulture practices.

Prajapati, accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Rajinder Lochan, HDO Rakesh Kumar Bagat, and other field staff, visited several orchards of local farmers in Reasi. They highlighted the success of HADP-supported projects, including the Ultra-High-Density Orchard project, rejuvenation of old and senile orchards (Projects P9, P15, P21), and the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).

During his visit, Prajapati met with District Development Commissioner Nidhi Malik to discuss the impact of HADP initiatives and their role in transforming farmers’ livelihoods. He emphasized the program’s success in improving orchard practices under the guidance of Principal Secretary APD Shailendra Kumar and Mission Director HADP Rahul Yadav.

Prajapati’s journey, which has already covered Kathua, Bhadarwah, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, and Udhampur, will conclude his mission on National Farmers’ Day (December 23) at the Directorate of Horticulture. This inspiring mission underscores his dedication to empowering farmers and promoting sustainable horticulture practices across the region.
