RAMBAN, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the Self-Enumeration process under Census 2027, scheduled to be conducted from May 17 to May 31, 2026. He issued necessary directions to ensure smooth implementation of the national exercise across the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Arun Gupta; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; SDM Ramsoo Syed Mazahir Hussain Shah; Additional District Census Officer Ashfaq-ur-Rehman; District Coordinator Census Operations Anish Sharma and other concerned officers, while SDMs and Tehsildars joined virtually.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed preparedness at each level and stressed the need for meticulous planning, effective coordination and widespread public awareness for successful execution of the process.

He directed all concerned officers to ensure that citizens are properly informed about every stage of self-enumeration for their convenience. A detailed briefing was given on the information required from households, the step-by-step process for completing self-enumeration and the importance of providing accurate and authentic information for nation-building and policy planning.

Highlighting the importance of public participation, the Deputy Commissioner said active involvement of every household is vital for the success of Census 2027. He stressed the need for a robust awareness campaign to educate people about the process.

The role and responsibilities of officials associated with the exercise were also explained in detail during the meeting. Special focus was laid on the responsibilities of Master Trainers, Enumerators and Supervisory Officers, who will play a key role in guiding citizens and ensuring seamless implementation.

To maximize outreach, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to intensify the social media campaign and ensure wider dissemination of awareness videos and informational content.

Urging people to watch the awareness videos and understand the process thoroughly, the DC said accurate participation by every household will significantly contribute to effective planning and development.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that collective administrative efforts and active public cooperation will make Census 2027 a successful and meaningful exercise in the district.
