Crime Branch Jammu produces charge Sheet in Fake PRC fraud

Jammu, Nov 11: Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu produced 158 page charge-sheet in the Court of law in case FIR No. 06/2020 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 201, 120-B/RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu against accused 1) Mohinder Pal Singh 2) Ajit Pal Singh (Expired) both sons of Piara Lal @ Piara Singh R/o Korotana Kalan Tehsil-RS Pura (Now Suchetgarh) Distt. Jammu, A/P village Magarpur Tehsil Mustafabad Distt.Yamuna Nagar Haryana for their involvement in hatching criminal conspiracy and managing fake PRC with the motive of using it as genuine before the office of PRO (Provincial Rehabilitation Office) Jammu to avail Rehabilitation package/ compensation of an amount of Rs.4,49,692 as POJK Refugee.

The case owes its origin to a written complaint lodged by Gurnam Singh S/o Gian Singh R/o Nai Basti Korotana Khurd, Tehsil Suchetgarh, R.S Pura Jammu, alleging therein that the accused is a displaced person of Jalbhi Tehsil Bhimber District Mirpur and he manipulated the permanent resident certificate in his favour by producing the fraudulent documents.

After obtaining the PRC (Permanent resident certificate) the accused connived with the concerned Revenue Authorities and got the original file and record destroyed to hush up the fraud and later produced the PRC as genuine before the concerned authorities to claim one time Settlement Relief as POJK refugee.

On receipt of the complaint a preliminary verification was initiated and during probe the allegations were prima facie substantiated, leading to the registration of formal case for indepth investigation.

During the course of investigation relevant record was seized, statement of witnesses recorded, Scientific, Circumstantial and other Material evidence was gathered and offences U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 201, 120-B/RPC were established against the accused and the charge sheet was produced in the Court of law for judicial determination.
