SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 21: All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) team of DARS Rangreth in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Shopian, today organized a one-day awareness-cum-input distribution programme to promote advanced pulse production technologies among tribal farmers of the district under the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) at Balpora.

The programme was held at KVK Shopian and witnessed the active participation of forty tribal farmers, along with experts from DARS Rangreth and KVK Shopian.

Head KVK Shopian, Dr. Zafar Afroz Badri, emphasized the importance of scientific interventions in enhancing agricultural productivity in tribal regions.

Principal Investigator, AICRP Pulses, Prof. Ajaz Ahmad Lone, briefed the participants on the programme’s objectives and shared the latest scientific technologies in pulse cultivation aimed at improving yield, reducing crop losses, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Farmers were also sensitized regarding scientific crop management practices critical for boosting pulse production.

During the programme, essential agricultural inputs including tarpaulins, pulse seed, Rhizobium culture and other materials were distributed among the participating tribal farmers to support their field operations and encourage adoption of improved technologies.
