Bandipora, October 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, on Friday inaugurated the 5th T20 Open Cricket Championship-2023 at S.K Stadium Bandipora.
The championship is being organised by Hashmee Cricket Club Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and Sports Council J&K.
The inaugural match was played between Bandipora Cricket Club vs Eidgah Cricket Club Bandipora.
It was given out that 48 teams from across Kashmir are participating in the Knockout T20 championship.
Furthermore, the organisers have arranged all the required facilities in collaboration with the District Administration to run the championship smoothly and to involve youth in sports activities.
Interacting with the players and spectators, the DC complimented the organisers of the event for showing sports spirit and involving youth in sports activities.
The DC urged the youth to participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academics for their physical and mental health and said that such an event will help to keep the young generation away from drugs, social evils and inculcate the spirit and love among the youth.
