Bandipora, September 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, Wednesday presided over mega Block Divas for Block Bandipora here at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The block divas programme was attended by ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan, Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, President Municipal Council Bandipora Basharat Najar besides councillors of all the wards of Municipal Council Bandipora, members of Traders Federation, Civil Society and other prominent citizens of Town Bandipora.
During the program, the DC was apprised regarding ongoing developmental projects. The DC on the occasion conducted a thorough review of the ongoing developmental works in Bandipora town. This included assessment of infrastructure projects, healthcare facilities, sanitation, traffic management, and macadamization process besides review of educational institutions.
Dr Owais patiently listened to the issues raised by the participants. The issues including childrens park, marriage hall, slaughter house, issues related to new bus adda, status of PMAY (U) scheme were also brought into the notice and threadbare discussion with the concerned was held on the occasion.
The DC directed the concerned to expedite the pace of execution to ensure that the benefits of these projects reach the people of Bandipora at the earliest. The concerned authorities were further directed to remove all the bottle necks, which act as hindrances in development works in the town.
Furthermore, Dr Owais addressed concerns related to pending works and emphasized the need for their swift resolution The Deputy Commissioner sought assurance from the concerned authorities that no stone would be left unturned to bring these initiatives to fruition.
While addressing the participants, the DC said that the development of Bandipora is not just a responsibility but a mission. He said that we collectively should be dedicated to ensure that the people of this district enjoy the highest quality of life.
Among others, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora Sheikh Tariq, District Information Officer Bilal Ahmad Mir, Executive Officer MC Bandipora, ExEn R&B Bandipora, and concerned officers of all line departments were also present on the occasion.
