DC Bandipora reviews performance of AHD

BANDIPORA, APRIL 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman chaired a meeting at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat Bandipora to review the operation and performance of the Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) in the district.
The meeting discussed strategies to promote sustainable growth in the animal husbandry sector.
Giving details regarding the livestock population in the District, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Bandipora, Dr. Gh. Ahmad Lone apprised the chair that Bandipora has 72564 cattle population and 415693 backyard poultry population.
CAHO informed the meeting that per capita availability of milk in the district Bandipora is 1000 ml per person, and the district has maintained self-sufficiency in milk production over the last few years.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Umar Shafi Pandit, ACD Mumtaz Ahamd Pir, CAHO, BVOs, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and other concerned.
