DODA, AUGUST 06: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Krishan Lal today chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex to review and finalize the necessary arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day-2026 in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE), Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Tehsildar, Executive Officer Municipality, Chief Medical Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, officers of CRPF, IRP and other concerned departments.
A comprehensive review of the arrangements was undertaken, including venue management, security, traffic regulation, cultural programmes, parade rehearsals, public address system, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, health services and other essential logistics.
The DC Doda directed the concerned departments to ensure all arrangements are completed well in advance to facilitate the smooth and dignified celebration of the national festival. He emphasized proper seating arrangements, stage setup, and cleanliness at the venue, Shehnai Vadan, rendition of the National Anthem and National Song and the presentation of quality cultural programmes by school students.
The District Information Centre was directed to ensure that the sound system arrangements are installed and tested well before the function. The Police Department was instructed to make necessary security arrangements and regulate traffic for the event.
The Executive Officer, Municipality, was directed to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in the town and around the venue. The Power Development Department (PDD) was asked to provide uninterrupted electricity supply, while the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department was instructed to ensure adequate drinking water facilities.
The Health Department was directed to deploy medical teams and first aid facilities at the venue, while the Fire and Emergency Services were instructed to station fire tenders as a precautionary measure.
The DC stressed the need for close coordination among all departments and called upon the officers to discharge their assigned responsibilities with commitment to ensure the successful and befitting celebration of the Independence Day in the district.
