DC Kathua reviews preparedness for SANJY 2026; Stresses timely completion of Works

KATHUA, APRIL 15: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a preparatory meeting at the DC Office Complex to review arrangements for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra- 2026.

The meeting held detailed deliberations on different aspects related to ensuring smooth and hassle-free conduct of the Yatra in the district.

Key focus areas included beautification of Lakhanpur Corridor, creation of new infrastructure, augmentation of existing facilities, up-gradation of basic amenities and improvement of lodgement centres for the convenience of pilgrims.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for timely completion of all works, stressing timely tendering of works and completion of all requisite formalities well in advance for seamless execution of assigned tasks.

He instructed the officers to work in close coordination and adopt a proactive approach in addressing potential challenges, ensuring adequate arrangements for accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, power supply and other essential services.

Among others, Vishavjeet Singh, Ranjeet Thakur and other district officers were present in the meeting.
