JAMMU, APRIL 15: Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Jammu Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the Department. He reviewed the availability of essential commodities, K.Oil, LPG and Petrol/Diesel.

The meeting was attended by all Assistant Directors and Tehsil Supply Officers/Area Inspectors of the Division.
During the meeting the ADs and TSOs were directed to conduct daily inspection of wholesale and retail markets, fair price shops, godowns and other business establishments dealing in essential commodities and to ensure proper display of price lists at all business premises. Directions were issued for taking strict action against violators.

The officers were exhorted to keep strict vigil on the daily prices of essential commodities such as wheat flour, rice, pulses, edible oils, sugar, LPG, kerosene, salt, onions, potatoes and other notified items. “No complaint should come from any corner regarding overcharging, hoarding and profiteering,” he directed.

Further, the ADs and TSOs for being officers of the enforcement department were directed to wear uniform during office hours to inculcate the sense of discipline.
