DC Kupwara chairs district level Zila Sainik Board meeting

KUPWARA, JUNE 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired the district level Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) meeting at DC Office Complex Kupwara to review the welfare measures and schemes for ex-servicemen, war widows, and their dependents in the district.

During the meeting, DC reviewed the functioning of Zila Sainik Welfare Board, welfare schemes meant for ex-servicemen, land cases, medical facilities and other issues.

She impressed upon the concerned officers for holding IEC camps at panchayat level to provide awareness of various centrally sponsored schemes to the ex-servicemen so that they can be benefited under these schemes.

These schemes pertain to self employment, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, BADP etc.
Earlier, Secretary ZSWB briefed the chair about various issues pertaining to the Ex-servicemen community in the district for which the DC assured of resolving all their genuine issues on priority.

DC emphasized the district administration’s commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families and directed concerned departments to work in coordination with the ZSWB for effective implementation of welfare schemes.

She also appreciated the role of ex-servicemen in nation-building and assured that their contributions will always be respected and recognized by the administration.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, GM DIC, Col. (Retd) S.S Raja, District Treasury Officer, CMO, ASP Handwara, Dy SP Hq Kupwara, Tehsildars, ex-servicemen and other concerned officials.
