KUPWARA, OCTOBER 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Wednesday visited the fire victims at Behramdari Batpora in Hyhama block to assess the situation arising due to a fire incident that happened yesterday night.
A fire incident had happened last night at Behramdari Batpora village in Block Hyhama which engulfed 7 houses and damaged them.
During her visit, the DC expressed sorrow over the unfortunate incident and shared sympathies with the affected families of the fire incident. She directed the Tehsildar Kupwara for proper assessment of the losses caused to the fire affected families so that they can be provided compensation.
Meanwhile, the fire affected families have been evacuated and shifted to the Panchayat Ghar for their safety.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the officials from District Red Cross Kupwara have distributed immediate relief items among the fire victims which include Beddings, blankets, food items and Cash of Rs.10000 to each of the affected families.
