RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today launched a plantation drive at Parnote, Range Gandhri, as part of the fortnight-long Sewa Parv celebrations. The drive was organized by the Forest Division Batote under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Batote, Abhinav Ramyotra.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to develop a green cover on sinking land in Parnote area. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that plantation on vulnerable slopes is an effective measure to stabilize land, protect the environment, and reduce the impact of soil erosion. He directed the Forest Department to carry out sustained plantation activities in all identified vulnerable zones to ensure long-term ecological balance.
The DFO Batote, while highlighting the importance of the drive, said that the Forest Department is committed to promoting plantation and conservation activities across the district with active public participation.
Officers and officials from the Forest and other departments, along with locals, participated in the plantation drive held under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. The initiative made a meaningful contribution towards environmental conservation and aimed to spread awareness about protecting nature while encouraging the youth to actively participate in building a green and sustainable future.
Meanwhile, a plantation drive was also organized at Government Polytechnic College, Chanderkote in collaboration with the Department of Social Forestry, Ramban, under the ongoing Sewa Parv observance. A large number of saplings of diverse species were planted in and around the campus under the guidance of the DFO Social Forestry Ramban and his team.
Aligning with the spirit of “Service to Nature is Service to God,” similar plantation drives were also organized in other parts of the district by the Forest and allied departments.
