KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 30: Continuing its series of initiatives under the ongoing Seva Parv, the Labour Department Kathua today organized two significant programmes aimed at recognizing the contribution of workers and promoting safety awareness in workplaces.
At Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua, a special felicitation programme was held for the non-teaching staff, often regarded as the silent workforce and the backbone of educational institutions. The ALC Kathua presented Certificates of Appreciation to the staff, acknowledging their invaluable services. To inspire and sensitize them, the national award-winning film Chalo Jeete Hain was screened, followed by an interactive awareness session on labour rights, entitlements and welfare measures. The initiative not only honoured their contribution but also empowered them with knowledge to safeguard their interests.
In another major event, a Fire Safety Drill was carried out at Kandhari Beverages, Baghthali Kathua in collaboration with the Inspectors of Factories, Jammu. The drill demonstrated practical techniques for fire prevention, evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols.
Workers and management were sensitized about the importance of preparedness in ensuring a safe and secure industrial environment.
ALC Kathua Piyusha Khajuria said the events are part of Labour Department’s endeavour to promote labour welfare, dignity of work and a culture of safety across educational and industrial institutions. The department will continue such outreach initiatives that strengthen awareness, empower workers and reinforce a safe working atmosphere in Kathua district, she added.
