RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 30: The District Industries Centre (DIC) today organized an awareness camp at ITI Ramban under the supervision of General Manager Ravinder Kumar Anand to generate awareness about various self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes being implemented by the Industries & Commerce Department/DIC Ramban.
The camp was held in line with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan and Director, Industries & Commerce Jammu Arun Manhas. The programme commenced with a welcome note delivered by the Superintendent ITI Ramban.
Functional Manager DIC Swaroop Kotwal interacted with the participants and highlighted the benefits of various schemes aimed at encouraging youth to become job creators instead of job seekers.
The educated unemployed youth were sensitized about the financial assistance and subsidies available under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in both manufacturing and service sectors along with other schemes like NCSS (a Centrally Sponsored Scheme) and State Packages under the JK Industrial Policy 2021–30.
Awareness was also imparted about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which provides holistic support and technical skill upgradation to traditional artisans and craftspeople.
The aspiring youth and students expressed enthusiasm and showed willingness to avail benefits under these schemes, particularly PMEGP to establish their own ventures and contribute towards local employment generation and economic growth.
