DC reviews functioning of Revenue department

Directs to retrieve encroached land on war footing basis

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday chaired a meeting of officers to take stock of working and performance of the Revenue department.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding various issues pertaining to the Revenue department including digitization of land records, measures for removal of encroachments on state and Kahcharai land, status of writing of Jamabandi and Girdawaris, status of custodian land, digitization and geo tagging of Waqaf property, distribution of pass books, pending civil court cases, conversion of agricultural land and establishment of mechanism for processing files for conversion of land, progress of SVAMITVA and migrant land inventory and disposal of complaints.
The DC directed the officers to adopt zero tolerance towards encroachment and asked them to evict the encroached land including custodian land, Rakhs and Farms Land and other government owned lands and retrieve it on a war-footing basis.
Dr Owais stressed on the Revenue officials to complete the Jamabandis within the stipulated time-frame and also urged them to conduct special mutation camps. He asked Patwaris to make frequent visits to their respective areas to keep check on encroachments and also asked Naib-Tehsildars to hold special mutation camps in their respective areas every week besides completing Jamabandi.
He further stressed for digitization and geo-tagging of Waqaf property besides timely disposal of revenue cases, regular camps in villages with mobilization of field functionaries for resolving issues of residents and on spot delivery of services as per PSGA.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Bandipora, Parvaiz Rahim, SDM Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora and Tehsildars of all other Tehsils of the district.
