POONCH, OCTOBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting to take a detailed stock of implementation of ‘Umeed’ scheme under J&K State Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKSRLM).
The DC informed the members of SHGs and female participants that “SAATH” rural initiative is aimed at helping women to become self-reliant by covering them under the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the JKRLM District Nodal Officer and Block Programme Officers to rope in maximum women under the scheme to provide them the means for sustainable livelihood.
The DC asked the concerned officers to link the Self Help Groups with vibrant markets to enable them to get maximum returns from the sale of their products.
The meeting was attended by ACD Poonch, District Programme Manager NRLM, Block programme Managers NRLM, other officers besides male as well as female beneficiaries of rural areas of the district.
