SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 18: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today visited Batapora Bus Stand and took stock of cleanliness in and around the Bus Stand.
The DC also made an inspection of the shopping complex of Municipal Committee Shopian at Batapora. He instructed the Executive Officer, MC, Shopian for auctioning of all the 52 shops and constructing the 2nd floor of the said Shopping Complex for business purposes.
He also interacted with the shopkeepers and traders who put forth their issues for early redressal. The DC heard them patiently and assured of resolving their genuine demands as per norms on priority.
Later, the DC visited and inspected the proposed site for the establishment of the Public Library at Gagren Shopian, and directed the Block Development Officer, Shopian for setting up the Public Library in the same building promptly.
The DC desired the establishment of the district library which will provide library services to students preparing for different examinations and shall be equipped with all facilities.
The DC was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone during the visit. Besides, BDO Shopian, Executive Officer, MC, Shopian and other concerned were present at the site.
