SHOPIAN, APRIL 23: In continuation of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, large scale signature campaigns were organized at Clock Tower Shopian and multiple locations across Zainapora, aimed at raising awareness against drug abuse and mobilizing public support for a drug free society.
At Shopian, the campaign was organized by the Municipal Council, Shopian and formally launched by the Chief Executive Officer, MC Shopian, Suhail Ahmad.
He actively participated in the event and encouraged citizens to pledge their commitment towards eliminating the menace of drugs from society.
A significant number of stakeholders including shopkeepers, vendors, students, drivers, and members of the general public participated with enthusiasm.
Participants signed a pledge wall, expressing their collective resolve to stand against substance abuse and promote a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
The CEO also briefed participants about the objectives of the campaign, emphasizing that strong community involvement is essential in tackling drug addiction.
Simultaneously, similar campaigns were conducted across various locations in Zainapora under the banner of Nasha Mukt J& K Abhiyan with major Signature Campaign held at Zainapora led by SDM Zainapora, Bilal Ahmad.
The events witnessed massive public participation, with youth, traders, volunteers, civil society members, and citizens from all walks of life coming forward to sign the pledge and reaffirm their commitment to a drug free society.
Many participants also expressed their willingness to actively contribute towards eliminating drug abuse and other social evils.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted that the fight against drugs requires collective will, sustained awareness, and active public participation.
