ANANTNAG, JULY 03: In order to take the stock of facilities along Pahalgam Axis of Yatra, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Friday visited various facilities including the Frisking Point, Nunwan Base Camp, Hikers Park and the Club to inspect overall arrangements during the departure of first batch of Yatris through the route.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDM Pahalgam and other senior officers, the Divisional Commissioner assessed the preparedness of departments to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims.

During the visit, Garg inspected the frisking point, eKYC verification and RFID registration counters, and reviewed the overall pilgrim facilitation system. He also interacted with yatris to obtain first-hand feedback on the facilities and services being provided.

Directing officers to maintain seamless coordination, the Divisional Commissioner emphasised the need to ensure efficient, hassle-free arrangements and the availability of all essential facilities for pilgrims, with special focus on their safety, comfort and convenience throughout the Yatra.

Taking note of the heavy influx of unregistered pilgrims, Garg instructed the concerned officers to streamline the on-the-spot registration process to minimise waiting time and facilitate quicker registration. He also directed officials to provide proper guidance and assistance to pilgrims requiring on-the-spot registration.

At Hikers Park, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the token-based RFID registration facility, while at the Club he inspected the on-the-spot RFID registration and eKYC updation process. Appreciating the efforts of the RFID teams, he directed officials to ensure timely completion of the daily registration quota.

Stressing that a large number of pilgrims are expected to undertake the pilgrimage in the coming days, Garg directed all departments to keep the arrangements fully functional and responsive to ensure a safe, smooth and convenient Yatra experience for the devotees.
