BUDGAM, MARCH 11: As part of the awareness campaign for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on 14th March 2026, the District Legal Services Authority, (DLSA) Budgam conducted a door-to-door awareness programme across different areas of the district.

The Campaign was conducted under the directions of Shazia Tabassum, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, under the supervision of Yahaya Firdous, incharge Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Budgam, and the guidance of Tabassum Qadir Parray Secretary, DLSA Budgam

During the campaign, the PLVs of DLSA Budgam visited various households of different Hamlets of District Budgam and interacted with the local residents to spread awareness about the importance and benefits of the National Lok Adalat.

The PLVs informed the public that Lok Adalat provides a platform for the speedy, cost-effective and amicable settlement of disputes without the need for lengthy court proceedings.

The residents were sensitized about different types of cases that can be taken up in the National Lok Adalat, including bank recovery matters, matrimonial disputes, motor accident claim cases, compoundable criminal cases and other civil matters.

The public was further informed that no court fee is charged for cases in Lok Adalat, and if any court fee has already been paid, the same is refunded after settlement. The citizens were encouraged to take advantage of this beneficial mechanism and participate in the National Lok Adalat on 14th March 2026 for the amicable resolution of their disputes.

The door-to-door campaign witnessed positive response from the public, who appreciated the efforts of DLSA Budgam in bringing legal awareness directly to their doorstep.
