DLSA, NRLM Shopian celebrate International Women’s Day

 SHOPIAN, MARCH  07: A seminar on the celebration of International Women’s week   under the theme “Inspire Inclusion” was today organized by District Legal Services Authority Shopian in collaboration with National Rural Livelihood Mission at District Mission management Unit NLRM Shopian.

The Seminar was organized under the directions of Riaz-Ul-Haq Mirza, Chairman DLSA & Secretary DLSA Shopian, Susheel Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy LADC Rafie Ahmad Ganie said that the main objective of organizing the seminar is to make women in general aware of their entitlements under various enactments being provided to them.

He said that the DLSA Shopian provides free legal aid to the women who face violence and discrimination in the society besides makes them aware with regard to their rights and incentives being provided to them.

On the occasion, District project manager Irfan Bashir also threw light on various schemes under NRLM while several beneficiaries of NRLM shared their success stories.

The programme was attended by DLSA Staff, LADC Advocates, PLV’s, NRLM staff and  women participants.

At the end of the programme PLV’s and LADC shared their contact numbers with the participants for the registration and redressal of their grievances.
