DLSAs of Srinagar & Budgam observes ‘National Girl Child Day’

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 24: District Legal Services Authorities of (DLSA) Srinagar and Budgam, in collaboration with Srinagar Women’s College Zakura, observed National Girl Child Day through a webinar.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA Srinagar (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar), and Om Prakash Baghat, Chairman DLSA Budgam (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Budgam).

The webinar was joined by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Srinagar/ Budgam, Prof. Syed Ifat Ara, Principal of Srinagar Women’s College Zakura, Head of the Department of Botany, Central Administrator, One Stop Centre, along with members of the Legal Services Unit for Children of DLSA Srinagar and Budgam.

During the program, Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Srinagar and Budgam, highlighted the importance of safeguarding the legal rights of children, especially girls. She underscored the pivotal role of legal awareness in ensuring equality and justice for the younger generation.

Advocate Mir Naveed Gul, Panel Lawyer DLSA Srinagar and member of the Legal Services Unit for Children, elaborated on the rights and duties of children, stressing the need for collective efforts to create a safe and supportive environment for their growth and development.

The event also featured a group discussion where participants shared insights and strategies to address challenges faced by girl children in society. The interactive session was both informative and engaging, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing the issues.

Head of the Department of Botany concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their contributions to the meaningful observance of National Girl Child Day.

The webinar was a significant step in promoting awareness and advocacy for the rights and welfare of girl children.
