DODA, JULY 18: Volleyball and Kho-Kho competitions for U17 Girls were held on the day 7 of the ongoing Inter-Zonal District Level Tournament (IZDLT) here at Government Degree College Grounds and City Middle School Grounds.
A total of 240 under-17 girls from 10 zones participated in the event, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm, athleticism and teamwork.
The event is being organized on the directions of Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K UT, Anuradha Gupta and Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh and under the guidance of Joint Director Jammu Vinakshi Koul and the overall supervision of DYSSO Jaffar Haider Sheikh.
In Kho-Kho, Zone Gundna defeated Zone Assar by a margin of 04 points in a competitive match, while in Volleyball Zone Assar emerged victorious against Zone Gundna with a close 2-1 set win.
The matches were officiated by a selected panel of experienced experts from the Department, including PEL, PEM, PET, REK Physical Education Teachers, ground staff and NYCs, ensuring fair and efficient conduct of the tournament.
The Inter-Zonal Tournament continues to promote physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among youth, while providing a valuable platform for talented athletes to represent their zones and build camaraderie across the district.
