Food Craft Institute Jammu hosts Food Festival

JAMMU, APRIL 22: A one day food festival – MILAAP was organized by Food Craft Institute Jammu today. The students of Food Production and Bakery and Confectionery showcased the ethnic, regional, continental dishes with fusion so as to come up with mouth watering delicacies. The students undergoing 1½ year diploma programme in various trades in the institute as part of their final practical had to undertake such preparations which were judged by external examiner Dr. Tariq Ahmed from Institute of Hotel Management, Srinagar.

The Principal of the Institute Jyoti Bhatti, in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of holding this event. The food festival was organized in order to promote the ethnic, regional and continental cuisines.

Further, it was an effort to promote the activities being undertaken by students of FCI Jammu, undergoing 1½ year diploma courses in various streams like Food Production, F&B Service, Front Office and Bakery & Confectionery. It was apprised by the Principal that all the present trainees have been selected for six months industrial training in different 5 star hotels across the country. The students/ trainees shall be joining the respective Hotels after their final examinations by end of May or first week of June.

Director, Skill Development Department J&K, O.P.Bhagat, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, also encouraged the students to pursue a career in the hospitality sector for which there are ample opportunities at their doorstep. He encouraged the students to become entrepreneurs. He conveyed the message to all those who have passed 10+2 so as to pursue a career in the Hospitality Sector. The admissions in the FCI Jammu are open and students can enroll online as well as offline by visiting the campus or by visiting the website.
