Gandhi Family, Move Back

It is not only immature on part of Rahul Gandhi, but also depicts his political short-sightedness when he says that the opposition is not fighting with a single party, but the entire structure of India, and by that he meant the important institutions functioning around the country being in direct control of Bharatiya Janata Party. He seems to have forgotten the fact that these bodies function in accordance with the law and not as per the will and wish of any political party, be it BJP or anyone else. At the very instance, he also appears to be ignorant of the fact that the Congress, too, whenever it was in power, projected its influence on the institutions which Rahul named, and used them to settle a political score.

Even though the party has started the ‘Bharat Jodo’ yatra aimed at gaining the lost ground, it already seems to be on a defensive mode given its assumption of Rahul that fighting the ‘structure’ as a whole seems a difficult fight—something which is going to turn out to be counterproductive for the party’s mass campaign across the country.  No matter, there has always been a fight between two different ideologies, but the effectiveness of one over the other identifies the winner and paves a way for it to triumph. What needs to be noted here is that there is no rigidness and open-mindedness when it comes to the ideology—it is always about its propagation, its foundations, and how well people identify with it.

Congress sure has a well-grounded and decades-old political ideology, however, Rahul, who represents the party, is quite naïve when it comes to the fight of ideologies because if he really believed in what Congress stands for, he would never have made it about the opposition versus the Indian State: and by the way, doesn’t the Indian State represent Constitution of India, has he ended up making it all about the Congress in the fight with the Constitution? We hope it is the otherwise, but one thing is crystal clear that the Congress in the image of the opposition, led by Rahul, across the country, is more than weak; it needs to buckle up if it needs to play its role as an effective and dominant political opposition, because, there sure is the need for a check and it is only the opposition that can play that part of the democracy.  Rahul sure believes in the idea of India, and that idea comes with a space for a strong opposition, but under his leadership, that space is missing from the scene: Why can’t he, rather the entire Gandhi family, move back and clear the road for democracy in India, to let the idea of India prevail in the real sense because they seem to have failed in ensuring that.
