JAMMU, AUGUST 12: The Red Ribbon Club of Government College of Education, Jammu, as part of the scheduled activities to commemorate International Youth Day 2026, organised an Awareness Rally to sensitise students and the general public about HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness and the importance of responsible health practices.
The rally was organised under the esteemed patronage of Principal Government College of Education Jammu Dr. Jyoti Parihar and under the guidance of Prof. Roopa Kumari, Convener and members of the Red Ribbon Club. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members, who carried awareness placards and raised slogans conveying meaningful messages related to HIV/AIDS prevention, healthy lifestyles, responsible citizenship, youth empowerment and social awareness. This rally provided an effective platform for spreading the message of Youth for a healthy and responsible society.
Addressing the participants, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the Red Ribbon Club for organising such socially relevant programmes. Further she highlighted the importance of youth engagement in addressing critical health issues like HIV/AIDS.
Prof. Roopa Kumari, Convener, Red Ribbon Club highlighted the significance of International Youth Day and stated that awareness among young people is essential for addressing contemporary social and health-related challenges. She urged the students to become ambassadors of awareness and responsible behaviour in their communities.
Other senior faculty members, Prof. Anuradha Choudhary, Dr. Shalini Sharma, Dr. Suraj Prakash also joined the rally. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Roopa Kumari, Dr. Shubhra Jamwal and Dr. Shallu Jasrotia. Participation certificates will be distributed to the students.
