KATHUA, AUGUST 12: As part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram Campaigns, Basohli witnessed a vibrant display of patriotism and public participation as a Boat Rally on the waters of Ranjit Sagar Lake and a Cycle Rally from the iconic Atal Setu were organised today.
The Cycle Rally was flagged off by Member Legislative Assembly Basohli Darshan Singh from Atal Setu, with enthusiastic participation from cyclists, youth, students and locals. The rally turned the stretch into a vibrant display of national pride, with participants carrying the message of patriotism, unity and collective responsibility.
Congratulating the participants, the MLA appreciated their enthusiastic involvement in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and called upon every citizen to proudly hoist the Tiranga at their homes. He also urged people, particularly the youth, to remember and honour the freedom fighters, who made the supreme sacrifice for the country’s Independence, saying that their courage and sacrifices continue to inspire generations.
Earlier, ADC Basohli Pankaj Bagotra flagged off a grand Boat Rally from the Jetty near TRC Basohli towards Atal Setu. Held against the picturesque backdrop of Ranjit Sagar Lake, the rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, youth, government officials and local residents.
The boats adorned with the Tricolour presented a striking spectacle on the waters of Ranjit Sagar Lake, adding a unique dimension to the patriotic celebrations. The atmosphere reverberated with patriotic fervour as spirited slogans of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed across the lake and surrounding areas, reflecting the participants’ pride in the nation and commitment to its unity and integrity.
The twin rallies transformed Basohli into a vibrant canvas of patriotism, with the scenic Ranjit Sagar Lake and the iconic Atal Setu serving as focal points of the celebrations. The events not only celebrated the spirit of Independence but also conveyed a strong message of unity, national pride, civic responsibility and collective participation.
