GDC Sumbal organises Anti-drug Awareness Run

BANDIPORA, MAY 28: Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal on Tuesday organised an anti-drug awareness run to raise awareness about the menace of drugs among students and the community

The event was organized under the patronage of the Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Shabeen Iqbal Shawl.
Around 95 students, both male and female, actively participated in the run, demonstrating their commitment to the cause and their desire to contribute to a drug-free society.

The run began with an assembly from Wangipora, where participants were briefed on the significance of the event and the impact of drug abuse on individuals and society. The route covered key areas of the locality, spreading the message of anti-drug awareness to a broader audience.

At the conclusion of the run, a speech was delivered by Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Parey who emphasized the role of education and community support in preventing drug abuse and encouraged students to lead by example in promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The event received positive feedback from participants and spectators alike, fostering a sense of solidarity and collective responsibility.
