SAMBA, AUGUST 05: As part of the Independence Day Celebrations 2025, Government Degree College Vijaypur organised a seminar competition on the theme “Role of J&K Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat@2047”.
The event aimed to promote youth engagement, critical thinking and national responsibility among students.
Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, presenting their views on how the youth of Jammu & Kashmir can contribute to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047—the centenary year of independence.
Principal Dr Ashu Vashisht inaugurated the seminar and emphasised the role of youth as change-makers and nation-builders. “The aspirations and innovation of our young minds are pivotal for realising the dream of Viksit Bharat by 2047. Events like these nurture leadership, responsibility and a spirit of patriotism,” she said.
A panel of judges comprising Prof Anita Jamwal (HoD Political Science), Dr Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HoD Sociology) and Prof Ritu Bhagat (HoD Education) evaluated the participants based on content, clarity, originality and presentation.
Vinayak of Semester V secured the first position, followed by Akash of Semester V and Sudhanshu of Semester III in second and third places respectively.
