GLDMDC Hiranagar organises Symposium to commemorate Accession Day

KATHUA, OCTOBER 25: The NSS Unit of Government GLDM Degree College Hiranagar, in collaboration with the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) organized a symposium to mark Accession Day, celebrating the historical significance of Jammu and Kashmir’s accession to India.

The event was held under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Pragya Khanna. He commended the efforts of NSS Program Officer Prof. Shapia Shameem, Prof. Amit Sharma, Convener of the ELC and other committee members for their commitment to creating a meaningful and educational event. NSS volunteers Saloni and Dakshika skillfully hosted the symposium, maintaining an engaging flow throughout.

The highlight of the symposium was an address by Lecturer Political Science Dr. Ritu, who spoke on the importance of Accession Day in the current socio-political context, offering students and attendees an opportunity to reflect on its ongoing relevance.

The symposium concluded with an award presentation ceremony honoring the top speakers. Dhanveer bagged 1st place, Saloni 2nd and Dakshika 3rd. The judges of the event, Prof. Kawaljeet Kour, Prof. Roopali Jamwal, and Prof. Dr. Punam Rani appreciated the participants for their thoughtful presentations.

Head of the Department of Sociology Dr. Rajni, delivered a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and attendees for their contributions to the event’s success. ‎
