Ganderbal, Nov 18: Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district is witnessing an increase in tourist arrivals following the inauguration of the ‘Golden Glory Eco Park’ in the famous tourist destination of Sonamarg.
Launched under the initiative ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, the park has quickly become a preferred destination for visitors seeking a harmonious blend of natural beauty and eco-friendly experiences.
The park’s attraction lies in its commitment to sustainable tourism, featuring eco-friendly initiatives that have captured the admiration of environmentally conscious travellers. From lush greenery to thoughtfully designed walking trails, the Golden Glory Eco Park offers a tranquil escape for nature enthusiasts.
News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) spoke to some visitors who expressed their appreciation for the park’s picturesque landscapes and the incorporation of eco-friendly features.
The inauguration of the park is hailed as a pivotal milestone in the region’s ongoing efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure.
Local authorities are optimistic about the positive impact of Golden Glory Eco Park on the tourism sector in central Kashmir. They said the park not only showcases the region’s natural splendour but also emphasises the importance of responsible tourism practices.
Sunil Singhaniya from Goa said, “This Eco Glory Park is beautiful, and the wooden logs and the natural view of that park have made me feel like heaven.
Kritika from Kolkata added, “This place is giving a new look. I have also visited Sonmarg in the past years, but this time, when I visited here, I felt amazed to see the Eco Park, and I would like to invite everyone to come and visit here.”
Chief Executive Officer of Sonamarg Development Authority, Ilyas Ahmad, told KNO that the Golden Glory Eco Park has been a significant boost to tourism, as every department has played a vital role in making this initiative successful.
“The tourist footfall has been great, the park is open for everyone, and the response is good; it’s a crown of Sonamarg now,” he said—(KNO)
