DODA NOVEMBER 12: A one-day IEC Awareness Programme was held today at the CDPO Office in Bhagwah. The event was well-attended, with participation from prominent citizens, social workers, supervisors, Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers, and local women from the area.
The event was hosted by District Programme Officer (DPO), S. Paramjeet Singh, in collaboration with the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Bhagwah.
The programme featured a range of activities aimed at spreading awareness about schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Poshan (nutrition), breastfeeding, balanced diets, and the holistic development of children up to six years of age.
Anganwadi workers, supervisors, and students contributed to the event by presenting poems and speeches that emphasized these important health and nutrition topics. Their presentations underscored the role of Anganwadi centers in supporting the growth and development of young children in the community.
During the event, prominent citizens and ex representatives from the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) discussed various issues facing the community. They emphasized the need for organizing such awareness programmes more frequently at the village level to ensure widespread understanding and community involvement in health and nutrition initiatives.
DPO shared that more than 15 such awareness camps have been organized so far across the district. He assured attendees that similar programmes would continue to be held throughout the year under the IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) initiative, reaching every corner of the district to promote health, nutrition, and community well-being.
