Srinagar: Army and police on Saturday detected and defused improvised explosive device (IED) in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
Officials said that the IED was detected by the police and army’s 14 RR in an orchard in Bagh area in the district.
Subsequently, bomb disposal squad teams of the Army and police reached at the spot and defused it in-situ without any damage.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and further investigations taken up in this regard, they said.
A police officer told GNS in all 116 rounds of AK-47, nine electric detonator, three power source of IED two kg explosive, two IED containers, 2 51-mm rounds, two 82mm rounds and three mechanism of IED were recovered. (GNS)
