Bandipora, Oct 30: The District Hospital Bandipora has initiated a night Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) service at the hospital from Monday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), this service was introduced for the first time in the hospital to address the challenges faced by pregnant women during night-time, thus putting an end to the referrals during night hours.

“Pregnant women have been experiencing difficulties during night-time for an extended period. During a recent visit by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, this concern was raised with him. Consequently, he directed the district administration and hospital authorities to initiate this service at earliest,” he added.

“The administration and hospital authorities promptly took action, making necessary arrangements to commence this service from tonight. This initiative is expected to provide significant relief to the expecting mothers in the district,” the official added.

Meanwhile, the local residents hailed the government’s action, emphasizing that this initiative was long overdue for the district.

Pregnant women from remote areas within the district had been encountering considerable difficulties during night hours, compelling their referral to Srinagar hospital for treatment as there were no viable local alternatives available—(KNO)
