New Delhi, Oct 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday assured his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu that India stands firmly with Israel in this “difficult hour” .

He also underscored that India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms.”I thank the Prime Minister @netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations” PM Modi said on X.

The telephone conversation between the Prime Minister and his Israeli counterpart comes at a time when the US, UK, Germany and France issued a joint statement expressing their “steadfast support” to Israel and unequivocally condemning Hamas and its acts of terrorism.

Meanwhile, Israel said that it has secured its border with Gaza, three days after Hamas broke through the barrier to launch a murderous assault that has left more than 900 people dead.

Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip have continued overnight the Air Force said, 200 targets were hit to dismantle the Hamas hideouts .

As per the Palestinian authorities, more than 700 people have been killed by the Israeli airstrikes.
