GANDERBAL, AUGUST 29: Judicial Officer, Nahida Mufti today visited the Sakhi, One Stop Centre (OSC), Ahat-e-Waqar (Senior Citizen Home) and District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) Ganderbal.

The visit commenced at the SAKHI, One Stop Centre (OSC) in Wayil, to get an overview of the functioning and services offered by these centres.

At the OSC, Nahida was briefed on the support provided to women who are victims of violence and other forms of oppression.

A key highlight of Nahida Mufti’s visit was her interaction with several survivors. She engaged in meaningful conversations, listening to their personal stories and understanding the challenges they have faced. “I am pleased to learn about the efforts the staff at the Centre is making to maintain a supportive and safe atmosphere for the survivors,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nahida Mufti visited Ahat-e-Waqar (Senior Citizen’s Home) in Ganderbal and interacted with the residents, inquiring about their well-being and their experiences living at the home.
To make the visit more pleasant, Nahida Mufti and her team brought refreshments for the residents, a gesture that was well-received and added warmth to the day’s activities.

The visit concluded at the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Ganderbal where she interacted with beneficiaries and was briefed on the services offered to people with disabilities.
She showed a keen interest in the manufacturing processes of artificial limbs.

The visit of the Judicial Officer was a significant event, highlighting the efforts and services provided by these Centres to support and empower vulnerable groups in the community.
