ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 24: Department of Animal Husbandry, Anantnag, organized a District Level Exhibition cum Kisan Mela at Tailwani, Achabal, under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency, ATMA scheme. The event, held under the supervision of Dr. Javed Ahmad Zargar, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer,(CAHO) Anantnag, aimed at enhancing awareness among local farmers and youth regarding various agricultural and animal husbandry schemes and modern practices.
The event saw significant participation from local farmers and educated unemployed youth, who displayed keen interest in the department’s initiatives. Livestock Development Officers (LDOs) and Block Veterinary Officers (BVOs) conducted informative sessions on various government schemes, including HADP, NADCP, IDDS, IPDP, KCC, NAIP, and ABIP-SS, emphasizing their benefits for the farming community.
A key highlight of the exhibition was the display of advanced agricultural technologies through multiple stalls featuring hydroponic units, chaff cutters, dairy and poultry products, milking machines, and various other modern dairy equipment. Additionally, a clinical camp was set up, where expert veterinarians provided free treatment for diseased animals and distributed free medicines to farmers.
To further support the local farming community, the department provided free anthelmintics and supplements for livestock, ensuring better animal health and productivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Javed Ahmad Zargar encouraged attendees to register for various government schemes and urged them to consider launching their own Start-Ups in the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors. He assured full support from the department in helping them establish their ventures and achieve self-sufficiency.
The event was a resounding success, fostering stronger collaboration between the agricultural sector and the farming community in Anantnag, and reinforcing the government’s commitment to empowering farmers with knowledge and resources.
