Kishtwar Admin finalizes preparations for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 30: To discuss and finalize preparations for the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and the observance of Padyatra to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel from, a meeting was today chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Nodal Officer) Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal here today.

At the outset, the meeting discussed the activity calendar and sought full cooperation from all the departments to ensure successful conduct of the programmes.

It was decided that a Padyatra, celebrating the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, would be held on November 15, 2025. The march would start from Government ITI at 10:00 AM and culminate at Tourist Reception Centre, where a vibrant cultural event shall be organized to mark the occasion.

The ADC issued necessary directions to all concerned departments including Health, Jal Shakti, PWD, Information, Municipality and others to ensure seamless arrangements for the celebrations.

As a prelude to Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the Education Department was directed to organise different competitions from October 31 to November 14, 2025 across all educational institutions in the District.

A ‘Run for Unity’ would be held on October 31 from Kuleed Chowk to Naka Berwar (near Butt Petrol Pump) by the District Administration in collaboration with the Police Department.

Further, a March Past and Pledge Ceremony will be held at the District Police Lines at 10:30 AM on the same day.
The Health and Ayush Departments were directed to organise Health and Medical Check-up Camps for screening of BP, blood sugar, and other ailments, while the Rural Development Department (RDD) was directed to conducted cleanliness drives across all 75 Amrit Sarovars in the district.

Similarly, a series of activities would be organized as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at Sub-Divisional, Tehsil and Block levels across the district to promote the spirit of unity and national integration.

The meeting was attended by SDM Marwah, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf; SDM Chatroo, Nayeem Ur Rehman; EO Municipal Council Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal; DIO Dr. Kuldeep Kumar; Tehsildar Nirbhay Sharma; Dy. SP Hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta; ARTO Tasleem Wani; I/C CMO Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal; DNO AYUSH Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal; Dy. CMO Masood Ahmed Qazi; AD Planning RDD; Representative from Dy. Director My Bharat; Bharat Scouts & Guides; NSS GDC, Tejas Ek Pehal (NGO); DYSSO and other concerned officers.
