Lok Sabha Elections-2024: SVEEP programme held for young voters at GDC, GHSS Doongi

RAJOURI, APRIL 30: Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was organized today here at Government Degree College (GDC) Doongi and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Doongi to encourage young voters to actively participate in elections.

Hosted under the guidance of District Election Officer, Om Parkash Bhagat and Nodal officer SVEEP Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Raina, the programme commenced with welcome address by Dr. Jaipal Singh, Principal of GDC.
Dr. Khalid Reyaz and Prof. Iqbal Ahmed Raina, Nodal Officer for SVEEP, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of voter registration and informed the young voters about various aspects of electoral process.
The students were sensitised about the significance of exercising their democratic rights and need to make informed decisions while voting.

The speakers emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future of nation and encouraged them to actively participate in upcoming elections. The students were also informed about the online voter registration facility and were guided on how to register as voters using the Electoral Commission’s website.
The event was attended by faculty members and students of GDC Doongi and GHSS Doongi.
