JAMMU, AUGUST 07: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu, in collaboration with JKRLM, organised an awareness session on gender sensitisation, financial literacy and women-centric government schemes for Self Help Group (SHG) members in village Khandwal, Satwari.
Gender Specialist Sonali Rana addressed the gathering on gender sensitisation, emphasising equality, dignity and active participation of women in all aspects of life. Financial Literacy Specialist Sunil Choudhary informed participants about women-centric financial schemes, banking procedures and how SHG members can leverage government initiatives for economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.
The programme was organised under the supervision of District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti, Shagun Manchanda and coordinated with the support of BPM Neha Dubey from JKRLM.
Other resource persons included S. Dharampal Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer Phallian Mandal, who spoke on agricultural schemes and training opportunities for SHG members.
Branch Manager J&K Bank SKUAST Satwari, Dheeraj Sharma guided participants on banking services and financial schemes under Mission YUVA. Arun and Sehrish, Panchayat Account Assistants (Yuva Doots) from Phallian Mandal, shared information on youth-led government schemes, rural digital initiatives and financial inclusion programmes for women.
The session was well-received by SHG members, who interacted with the experts and expressed keen interest in availing themselves of the schemes and services discussed.
The programme concluded with all participants and officials taking the Independence Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to freedom, equality and national progress.
