Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan: Sports activities organized across Anantnag
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

ANANTNAG, JUNE 12: In a determined effort to combat substance abuse among youth, the Education department Anantnag organized a series of sports and awareness activities today across various government high and higher secondary schools in the district under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local community members. A range of events including sports competitions, awareness rallies, interactive sessions, essay writing and debate competitions, and pledge-taking ceremonies were held with great zeal and commitment.

The primary objective of these activities was to sensitize young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse on individual health, family well-being, and the broader society, while motivating them to take a proactive role in creating a drug-free environment.

Special awareness sessions were conducted by subject experts, educators and students. These included real-life case studies and personal stories to underline the devastating impact of substance addiction and the importance of early intervention and community support.

District administration emphasized the critical role of educational institutions and community stakeholders in sustaining awareness efforts. Schools and colleges were encouraged to develop continuous outreach initiatives and establish early intervention mechanisms to identify and support vulnerable individuals.

Further awareness programmes and community engagement events are scheduled on selected focus days as part of the ongoing public outreach initiative under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
