National Lok Adalat: 520 Cases disposed of in Rajouri

RAJOURI, MARCH 09: As per the direction of NALSA, the 1st National Lok Adalat of this year was held today at District Court Complex, Rajouri and in all other Courts of the District under the Chairmanship of R.N Wattal Chairman District legal Service Authority Rajouri (Principal District & Sessions Judge)  Rajouri.

Two benches were constituted to hear all types of cases.

The Bench No 1 was headed by Mehmood Choudhary ( Additional District & Sessions Judge Rajouri) and assisted by Khilat Bhat Advocate &  Inderjeet Sharma Advocate. The Second bench was headed by Mahjabeen Akhter (District Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), and assisted by Sapna Kumari Advocate.

Similar benches were also constituted at Tehsil Level which were headed by the Presiding Officers of the respective Courts.

 A total No. of 917 cases both Pre-Litigation and Post-Litigation  were taken up of which 520 Cases were disposed of.

An amount of Rs 2,036,543 (Twenty Lakh Thirty Six thousand and five hundred forty three only) was realized as compensation.

From the court of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri & Additional District & Sessions Judge Rajouri, 71 MACT Cases were taken up out of which 63 were settled and amount of Rs. 37,015,000 ( Three Crore Seventy Lakh & Fifteen Thousand only) was awarded as compensation. Representatives of Banks, Advocates of different Insurance companies, Bar members, PLVs, Staff members, Litigants and a large number of people participated in the National Lok Adalat.
