ANANTNAG, JUNE 17: To combat the growing threat of substance abuse among youth, Youth Services and Sports, Anantnag, organized an impactful anti-drug awareness activity under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.

During the programme, an anti-drug pledge was administered to the participating students during the zonal level inter-school Cricket Competition held at Sports Stadium Rooh.

The initiative was aimed at sensitizing young sportspersons about the ill effects of drug addiction and encouraging them to lead by example in fostering a drug-free environment both within and beyond their institutions.

The event showcased a powerful role of sports in channelizing the energy of youth in a positive direction and preventing them from falling into the trap of substance abuse. Sports not only build physical fitness but also nurture discipline, mental strength, and resilience all of which are crucial in resisting the temptations of harmful habits.

The event saw vibrant participation from students representing various schools of the zone, along with teachers, coaches, and departmental officials. The participants took the solemn pledge with dedication, vowing to stay away from drugs and support others in making healthy life choices.

The collective spirit and enthusiasm on the ground reflected the growing awareness and responsibility among youth to contribute to a drug-free society.

The initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan and underscores the commitment of the District Administration and the Department of Youth Services and Sports towards safeguarding the well-being of future generations through preventive and awareness-based interventions.
