SHOPIAN, JULY 19: An awareness program on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) was conducted today at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Shopian by the District AYUSH Office Shopian.
The programme aimed at sensitizing female teaching staff about PCOS – its causes, symptoms, prevention, and management.
The session was led by Medical Officer AYUSH, who delivered an informative and engaging lecture on the condition. She emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, lifestyle modifications, and regular health check-ups.
The session covered various aspects of PCOS, including hormonal imbalance, menstrual irregularities, and its long-term health implications.
Following this, Medical Officer AYUSH, delivered an insightful lecture focusing on the importance of diet and lifestyle modification in managing PCOS. He elaborated on how dietary choices, such as reducing processed foods, incorporating fiber-rich meals, and maintaining regular eating habits, can significantly help in controlling symptoms and preventing long-term complications.
He also highlighted the role of physical activity and stress management.
During the program, NCD screening and JK Sehat Application registrations were also done at the venue.
