Jammu, Feb 17 : Stating that peace is prerequisite for development and prosperity, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that security forces have been instructed to crush terrorism and its ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the first-edition of Sikh Cricket Premier League here, LG Sinha, according to the news agency, said, “I have always maintained that the development is not possible without peace. Establishing a secure environment is not only the job of security forces and the administration. People have to play their role.”
“The Indian Army is capable and is giving a befitting reply. J&K Police and security forces are working in coordination and they have been instructed to crush terrorism and its ecosystem,” he added.
LG Sinha said that there will be no halt in anti-terrorism operations, as safeguarding peace and tranquility in J&K is the top priority. “The security agencies have been given clear and unwavering directives to root out terrorism and ensure lasting stability,” he added.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering at the inaugural function of the Sikh Cricket Premier League, LG Sinha highlighted the contribution of disciplined and motivated youth in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharing an inspiring story from his recent visit to a village in Samba district, he said, “The youth of that village, along with retired Army officers, have transformed its destiny. Half of the village is serving in the Indian Army, and nine sub-inspectors from that village were selected in the recent recruitment list.”
Calling the Sikh Premier League an important initiative, he lauded the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork, emphasizing the role of such events in youth development.
“It is not just a sporting event but a cultural and social initiative that reflects the commitment to holistic community development and aims to build a brighter future for the youth of Sikh community in J&K,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
URGES YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN MISSION YUVA
LG Sinha also urged the youth to actively participate in Mission Yuva, an initiative launched by the J&K administration six months ago to boost employment and entrepreneurship.
“I call upon the youth to get themselves registered with Mission Yuva. Our goal is to establish one lakh enterprises and create 4.25 lakh employment opportunities,” he stated.
BHARAT HAS EMERGED AS A GLOBAL LEADER IN INNOVATION
Reflecting on India’s remarkable economic growth, LG Sinha underlined that Bharat has emerged as a global leader in innovation.
“India now has the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, contributing $350 billion through unicorns. Our GDP growth rate is higher than that of the United States, UAE, and China,” he noted.
Projecting India’s economic trajectory, he added, “By 2030, Bharat will become the third-largest economy. Over the next 10 years, India will supply 25% of the world’s skilled workforce.”
He further highlighted India’s leadership in digital transformation, stating, “India ranks number one in digital transactions and has become the largest consumer of the internet in the world. Major global companies are investing in Bharat, recognizing its potential as an economic powerhouse.”
CONGRATULATES SIKH COORDINATION COMMITTEE FOR PLAYING VITAL ROLE IN EMPOWERING THEIR COMMUNITY
He congratulated the All J&K Sikh Coordination Committee for playing a vital role in empowering the Sikh community and preserving its rich heritage, through such innovative programs, while fostering a sense of pride and responsibility towards the society and the nation among its youth.
The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted his resolve to develop a robust ecosystem where the Sikh community members, especially the youth have access to opportunities and make meaningful contributions to the society.
“Our youth from Sikh community represent the very pivot around which socio-economic growth and transformation of the society takes a new shape and to ensure this we are working with dedication for mainstreaming of Sikh youth into the development process,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He further asked the Youth to follow the footsteps of their great ancestors and make the entire Sikh community and the nation proud.
J&K WORKING FOR INCLUSIVE GROWTH
“Today, Jammu Kashmir is working for inclusive growth, which means socio-economic growth of all sections of society. Such initiatives hold the key to equitable growth and socio-economic change. It also promotes the ideals and values of unity, discipline and harmony,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasised the role of Public-Private Partnerships to empower youth by improving infrastructure, providing opportunities and opening up new avenues in diverse sectors.
“I strongly believe that socio-economic goals of development and empowerment of youth should be made through public-private partnerships. It can provide us with an extensive network of skilling and entrepreneurship projects and we can take these facilities to the grassroots levels. In 2020 I initiated public-private partnership projects. Even today, we are also creating an enabling policy environment in which youth’s concerns can be reflected, and redressed in a speedy manner,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
