REASI, MARCH 08: The Poshan Project Pouni commenced Poshan Pakhwada 2025 and also celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event.
Joint Director Vinod Kumar Behnal was the Chief Guest. The event saw active participation from Anganwadi workers, supervisors, and local community members.
The Joint Director engaged with Anganwadi workers and local residents, highlighting the important themes for Poshan Pakhwada 2025. He emphasized the importance of giving proper nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, as this period is crucial for growth, brain development, and immunity. He also stressed the need to promote healthy habits to address malnutrition, obesity, and other childhood health issues, such as diabetes and anemia. Stress was laid on eating fortified foods and maintaining a balanced diet. He emphasised that the quality of food provided to the children must never be compromised and should always meet nutritional standards, besides quantity of nutrition.
The event included a cultural program performed by Anganwadi workers and children, celebrating the rich traditions and values of child development. Gifts were also distributed among the children to encourage their learning and overall growth.
