Preamble reading ceremonies mark celebration of 75th ‘Constitution Day’ across all Districts of Kashmir

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 26: On the eve of Constitution Day or ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ being observed every year on November 26, Preamble reading ceremonies were held across all the districts of Kashmir.

The Constitution Day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India. On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India had adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
At District headquarters, the respective Deputy Commissioners (DCs) presided over the functions and read out the Preamble and Charter of principles enshrined in the preamble of Constitution.

They urged upon all officers/officials to maintain a sense of brotherhood, achieve the idea of social, economical and political justice, liberty of thought and expression, equality among all and element of fraternity as enshrined in the preamble of our Constitution.

In Baramulla, the District Administration Baramulla today celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm and solemnity at the DC Office and other government offices of the district.

The highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa which was joined by all officers and officials, underscoring a shared commitment to uphold the principles and values enshrined in the Constitution.

The DC highlighted the importance of adhering to constitutional ideals in governance and public service, underscoring the significance of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity in promoting inclusive development and nation-building.

The Constitution Day was also observed at other key government offices across Baramulla district.
In Ganderbal, Constitution Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the district today, with the main pledge-taking ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, here.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shyambir, along with officers and officials from various departments, reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
During the ceremony, the Preamble of the Constitution was read out, and the significance of the day was highlighted.

Pledge-taking ceremonies were also organized in other government offices, educational institutions, and public spaces across the district to commemorate the day.

Participants expressed their commitment to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society, as envisioned by the framers of the Constitution.

The district administration expressed its gratitude to all participants and reiterated its commitment to fostering awareness about constitutional rights and duties among the citizens of Ganderbal.

In Shopian, the District Administration Shopian today celebrated Constitution Day at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar administered Constitution Day Pledge among participants. He also led the Preamble Reading session

The celebration was part of the administration’s efforts to reaffirm commitment to uphold the ideology and ideals of the constitution and pay tributes to the drafters of the largest constitution of the world.
The event was attended by various district officers and other officials of departments including ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone and ACD.

In Kupwara, the District Administration Kupwara today organized an impressive function within the premises of D.C Office Kupwara.

The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan administered the oath of the Preamble of the Constitution of the country to all participants including ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara and other officers and officials.

On the occasion, the DC said that this day has an immense historical importance for all of us and today we rededicate ourselves to those great ideals and the spirit of our constitution as we celebrate the anniversary of this great historic event.

Constitution Day was also celebrated in all Educational Institutions, Government offices of District Kupwara including its sub divisions in which officers, officials and students unanimously read the Preamble and took pledge to rededicate themselves for the service of the nation.

In Kulgam, the District Administration Kulgam today observed Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) with a solemn Pledge-taking ceremony held at the Mini Secretariat, here.

The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, along with Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and other officers and officials of the district administration.

All participants took the pledge to uphold the core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.

On the occasion, the significance of Constitution Day was also highlighted.
All the departments and institutions also observed Constitution Day across the district.

In Bandipora, the Constitution Day Celebrations were held today in conference Hall Mini secretariat Bandipora under the theme Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman.

On the occasion, ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt administered the oath of preamble to the participants to reinforce their understanding of constitutional values.

In his address, ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt emphasized the importance of understanding and abiding by the values of the Constitution. He highlighted that Constitution Day is not only a celebration of our legal framework but also an occasion to reaffirm our commitment to the democratic ideals of justice, equality, and fraternity.

The constitution day celebrations were attended by ACR Shabir Ahmad Wani, ACD Irfan Bahadur, CPO Mohammad Maqbool, Officers and officials of various Departments and other concerned.

In Srinagar, the District Administration Srinagar today organised Preamble reading ceremonies in all the Government Offices across the District.

The main function was held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex where Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Khalid Hussain Malik read out the preamble of the Constitution along with all senior Officers and Officials of the DC Office Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC urged all Officers/Officials to maintain a sense of brotherhood, achieve the idea of social, economic and political justice, liberty of thought and expression, equality among all and section of fraternity as enshrined in the preamble of our Constitution.

Meanwhile, similar functions were also held in all District Offices of Srinagar, during which participants read Preamble and expressed their strong will to secure all its citizens justice, liberty and equality. Besides, promote among them all fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation.
