JAMMU, MAY 8: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting with Block Development Officers to review progress on RDD works, here today.
Taking block wise review of Rural Development Department works, the DC underlined the critical role of rural development and assessed the progress achieved under flagship schemes like MGNREGA.
The DC emphasised the importance of rural development, stating that the department has a crucial role in implementing life-changing interventions at the grassroots level.
He reviewed the man days generated under MGNREGA and encouraged all stakeholders to promote afforestation and water conservation works in rural areas.
Waste segregation and management were also reviewed by the DC. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Dr Vikas Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Shahzada Noor-ul-Ain and Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh besides others concerned.
